The Roads Authority was established by an Act of Parliament No. 3 of 2006. Apart from the Act RA is guided in its operations by other Acts governing organizations it interacts with in its day to day operations. The RFA Act, Employement Equity Act, Labour Act are some of the Acts that guide and regulate the activities of RA. The Roads Authority has some service level agreement with other stakeholders in the roads sector like the Local Authorities under which the district and city assemblies fall. Being a leader in the Road industry, the RA will continue to play a key role in ensuring that policies and standards are followed and ensure the best practices in the construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of all roads.
